Q&A with Andy Hunt on Pragmatic Thinking & Learning
An fun privilege for me as a Softhouse employee was the opportunity to make a short interview with Andy Hunt, of Pragmatic Programmer fame, about his latest book Pragmatic Thinking & Learning and the Øresund Agile workshop with the same title.
Make Developers’ Lives Better
The Pragmatic Programmers has a spin-off called Pragmatic Life. It made me think about the books I have acquired that are more about life than about programming: The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. W. Covey Pragmatic Thinking and Learning: Refactor Your Wetware, by Andy Hunt Getting Things Done, by David Allen… Continue reading Make Developers’ Lives Better
Tired of Lighttpd
The initial VPS package I ordered did not have very much RAM so I decided to run Lighttpd. Since then I have upgraded the VPS to a pretty luxurious package so the RAM limitation hardly applies anymore. I still haven’t moved all my websites from the old server to the VPS and I just realized… Continue reading Tired of Lighttpd
libspotify – the official Spotify library!
Spotify opens its doors to developers and releases libspotify. Nice! The C API and examples look very clean. It’s even possible to play songs through the API and I guess that’s much more than anyone expected. Some might complain that the library is binary-only for Linux on IA-32 but I won’t… If I had a… Continue reading libspotify – the official Spotify library!

Open Source client for Spotify
I think they should have avoided “spotify” in the name of the software, and I haven’t tried it yet, but Despotify seems cool! Update I noticed that the domain name despotify.se seems to be registered by Per Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, known for his involvement in the famous Bittorrent site The Pirate Bay…
Øresund Agile 2009 web site is now open!
I’m not sure if I can make it to Øresund Agile 2009 on May 12-14, but I sure would like to participate in Pragmatic Programmer Andy Hunt’s workshop on Pragmatic Thinking and Learning! I’m close to the end of my first reading of the book with the same title.
Next Qt release will available with LGPL
This piece of news is a week old now but I somehow didn’t notice until today: LGPL License Option Added to Qt
My laptop is back from service
After the RAM failure I procrastinated for two weeks before sending the laptop to service and then it took a month (including Christmas and stuff) to get it back. After service they tried to return it to the wrong address by changing the first letter in the street name from S to T and dropping… Continue reading My laptop is back from service
